Stay at Thimphu

Never thought I would be visiting back 'Gyelsa-Te'wa' but we cannot avoid being a capital of Bhutan and everything done at capital with Head offices. For me being from remote and coming to a place where people and traffic are new to me is a venture into new world.
On Friday 10th December,2010 my first visit to thimphu began where i had to call my friend to drive my car from Semtokha to ministry of labour and human resources only to find myself lost watching passerby and stuck with thoughts of driving in this city. I would be driving for atleast a month in this city alone and with conjested vehicle and people it would be a drivers worse nightmare and fright of driving into wrong direction and wrong place.

After my visit at MOLHR I am directed to go back to Institute of Management Studies at Olakha and now what!! Drive from MOLHR to Olakha without any knowledge where I am going and where that road leads to. Should have asked my friends to drive but all were busy in their office. I am forced to drive alone. By now I am following a taxi-wagonR down the road and into some parking area. The taxi stopped for parking and now i am alone again. Ok I giveup until someone turns up. So I too parked my car near a space next to taxi only to hear a traffic police blowing his whistle..." wai choe ya taxi inna?" I didnt understand what he meant to say but i simply pulled out my car and started following the car infront and now its time i call a guide for me. Dialled a number of my friend and now from the other end the first question is.... "Where are you?" where am i? what do I say? I dont know any place yet. Ok I am following a car and driving myself and dont know where I am at the moment. I just see one round about approaching near. The other end answers.. " Just drive towards you left".And soon I am on the main road leading me to Olakha and it almost took 1 hour to reach my class at Institute for Management and Studies and entered the class.
The Class has already started and everyone silently staring at me eagerly waiting to know who I was.

I had to stay with my friend at Taba and it was a long drive from Olakha to Home. Day by day my driving skills at Town increased and oncemore I reach the place where I followed a taxi. When I now look and recollect why a traffic police asked me if i were a taxi too, I had been following the taxi and when taxi parked in Taxi parking loat I too had parked my car in Taxi parking and that was the reason my traffic police blew his whistle.

A week passed and my first journey was towards RMA, where i went to meet one of my online friend Clumsy who boldly invited and took me to their canteen and served me. I was accompanying a friend incase i forget the road back. Soon as now I am perfect with Oneway, round about and parkings. I have no problem and just go on spending Five to Ten Ngeltrum a parking fee. Tell me to drive you around town and i am ready. Tell me to drop you to zangdopelri, kawajangsa, kalabazar, taba, dechenling, mutithang, swimming pool area or anywhere i am ready now.

A month class just passes by at IMS, olakha. At first everyone is in their own world with new faces and not having the guts to talk to each other or introduce. Day by day we become closer and know better. By the time we know each other its time for us to depart. With sad faces we are oncemore departing from new friends we never knew and wouldnt have known before attending the classes at IMS.
Out of 27 trainees, 15 of us are organising a dinner and vote of thanks to our superiors and instructors at Ugyen Hotel on 14th January,2011 and that night was a night to be remembered by all and so special and everybody would love to have the same chance again.

MR. KEZANG WANGCHUK WANGDI... Instructor for BEC.

MR. ROHIT, IT OF IMS.

MR. UGYEN, INSTRUCTOR AT IMS.
I personally thank these three faculty for their valuable time with us and being with us in every step we make. Without them the course would have been incomplete and have not been so successful. Thank you once again.
