Living through

Early sunrise beams through mountain and A busy day starts with people getting together by the time 8.00AM with spades over their shoulder and a cap over head. Its time we pull our spades from shoulder into thick folded winter dried dusty field. Getting ready we all are in line at the base, the starting point for dusty day to begin and we start digging together. By the end of day we have finished digging acres of land but yet there are lots to do. Soon after a month these fields would turn GREEN. All of us go home by evening tired and just waiting for tomorrow to again begin with spades to a new plot and it continues throughout until no paddy fields remain hosed and dry. We take rest for a week and we are again into same field but this time we are starting our paddy plantation.

With shower of rain, and ladies gossiping or making fun of each other we began the plantation. By noon we planted half and still more to go. When the plantation is about to finish, ladies throw mud and muddy water to men and they reply with huge bold of mud which covers from head to toe and then rush in competition for fresh water to wash away the mud. And sometimes a quarrel breakout. Next day will be booked by another and we are always busy again going from one paddy to another and keep the gossip running. Horrible sometimes when they mock and make fun of you in front of your family and many friends around but every dog has its own day. We just need to wait for the time "A Tit for Tat"

Well, after a month its time for weeding and everyone around seems to be in field and then irrigating. And seasons to harvest potatoes and plant maize followed by chilli A farmers life is always attached to the field be it for a month or a year. With time the crops grow up and life too passes by yet we never notice the life being carried away each day being busy with works.

I wont say life in village is very easy but I surely do accept that life is more happy here with everyone around and helping each other without any concerns. During the first week of work it is so difficult since we aren't used to it and gets tired easily. By evening everybody gets so tired and complains of back aches, knee aches and wrist pain are common and by the 2nd week of work everyone gets adjusted to it. Maybe that is how the farmers get exercised without going to jim or jogging.
The smiles on the faces of farmer after plantation are some of the unforgettable moments that we see.
